President, KMCH Mr.U.K.Ananthapadmanabhan took his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics (BE) from College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai and Post graduate diploma in business management from Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai. He also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management.
He started his career in 1978 and worked in Automobile companies like Lucas-TVS, TVS-Suzuki and Rane (Madras) for 5 years. In the year 1983 he switched over to Hospital industry and joined Apollo Hospitals, Chennai as Materials Manager and later in 1987 he was elevated as General manager-technical .In the year 1990 he joined Kovai Medical Center and Hospital and is now serving as President of the hospital. For a brief period he was also the Administrative director of 500-bed Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Center, Madurai.
He had hospital management training at Cleveland clinic, Texas heart center and St. Lukes hospital, USA. He has training in many medical equipment manufacturing facilities and Healthcare organizations in countries such as Netherlands, France, United Kingdom, United States of America, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong , Dubai and China.
He represented as a member healthcare group in the Indian IT delegation to China and Vietnam. He also visited United Kingdom as a part of Indian Trade Mission on healthcare organized by British Deputy High Commission, Mumbai.
He is a Member of Board of studies at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Anna University, Coimbatore and Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai for the Post Graduate programme in Hospital management. Member of the Board of Studies in NGP Arts and Science College, Coimbatore.
